My Eclectic Tastes in Music!

I really love music.

Everything except heavy metal, which gives me a splitting headache.

Here's a taste of what's in my collection. I'll start with the more unusual additions... :)

Have you ever seen the movie "Beetlejuice"? Well, if you have, then you'll remember the scene where everyone at the dinner table starts dancing to Harry Belafonte's famous tune, "Day-O (the Banana Boat Song)". This is a great album, full of very stylish calypso music. Belafonte's voice is rich and soothing. I've played this CD to death at work, making all my colleagues want to "Jump in the Line"! ;)

Ahhh... The lovely Andrews Sisters. Gotta love the swing music from the 1930's and 40's. I love this album. It's a real period-piece, with wartime songs like "When The Yanks Go Marching In" and "Shoo-Shoo Baby". My father flipped when I played it for him, saying something like "You're strange, this is old-fashioned even for me!" Ahh, well. There's no accounting for taste, especially mine!

Oy, this one was EXPENSIVE! It's the original motion picture soundtrack to the 1984 movie "The Last Unicorn". This was hard to find, and I finally had to have it imported from Germany because they're not making it in North America anymore. It cost a bundle, let me tell you. But it was soooooooo worth it! The music is absolutely amazing, haunting and enchanting. I'd recommend this CD to anyone just BECAUSE. I love it.
