God Knows
When you are tired and discouraged from fruitless efforts . . . God knows how hard you have tried.
When you've cried so long and your heart is in anguish . . . God has counted your tears.
If you feel that your life is on hold and time has passed you by . . . God is waiting with you.
When you're lonely and your friends are too busy even for a phone call. . . God is by your side.
When you think you've tried everything and don't know where to turn . . . God has a solution.
When nothing makes sense and you are confused or frustrated . . . God has the answer.
If suddenly your outlook is brighter and you find traces of hope . . . God has whispered to you.
When things are going well and you have much to be thankful for . . . God has blessed you.
When something joyful happens and you are filled with awe . . . God has smiled upon you.
When you have a purpose to fulfill and a dream to follow . . . God has opened your eyes and called you by name.
Remember that wherever you are or whatever you are facing . . . God knows!
What is God telling you with the problems He blesses you with? The problems you face will either defeat you or develop you -depending on how you respond to them. Unfortunately most people fail to see how God wants to use problems for good in their lives. They react foolishly and resent their problems rather than pausing to consider what benefit they might bring. Here are five ways God wants to use the problems in your life: ~~God uses problems to DIRECT you. Sometimes God must light a fire under you to get you moving. Problems often point us in a new direction and motivate us to change. Is God trying to get your attention? "Sometimes it takes a painful situation to make us change our ways." ~~God uses problems to INSPECT you. People are like tea bags. . . if you want to know what's inside them, just drop them into hot water! Has God ever tested your faith with a problem? What do problems reveal about you? "When you have many kinds of troubles, you should be full of joy, because you know that these troubles test your faith, and this will give you patience." ~~God uses problems to CORRECT you. Some lessons we learn only through pain and failure. It's likely that as a child your parents told you not to touch a hot stove. But you probably learned by being burned. Sometimes we only learn the value of something health, money, a relationship by losing it ". It was the best thing that could have happened to me, for it taught me to pay attention to your laws." ~~God uses problems to PROTECT you. A problem can be a blessing in disguise if it prevents you from being harmed by something more serious. Last year a friend was fired for refusing to do something unethical that his boss had asked him to do. His unemployment was a problem - but it saved him from being convicted and sent to prison a year later when management's actions were eventually discovered. "You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good. " ~~God uses problems to PERFECT you. Problems, when responded to correctly, are character builders. God is far more interested in your character than your comfort. Your relationship to God and your character are the only two things you're going to take with you into eternity. "We can rejoice when we run into problems they help us learn to be patient. And patience develops strength of character in us and helps us trust God more each time we use it until finally our hope and faith are strong and steady." ~~Here's the point: God is at work in your life - even when you do not recognize it or understand it. But it's much easier and profitable when you cooperate with Him.~~ |
Guidelines for Life
1. Try not to worry, for this is the most unproductive of all human activities. |
YESTERDAY, TODAY AND TOMORROW There are two days in every week about which we should not worry, Two days which should be kept free of fear and apprehension. One of these days is YESTERDAY, With its mistakes and cares, Its faults and blunders, Its aches and pains. YESTERDAY has passed forever beyond our control. All the money in the world cannot bring back YESTERDAY. We cannot undo a single act we performed; We cannot erase a single word we said. YESTERDAY is gone. The other day we should not worry about is TOMORROW With its possible adversities, its burdens, its larger promise. TOMORROW is also beyond our immediate control. TOMORROW, the sun will rise, Either in splendor or behind a mask of clouds, But it will rise. Until it does, we have no stake in TOMORROW For it is as yet unborn. This leaves only one day - TODAY. Any man can fight the battles of just one day. It is only when you and I add the burdens of those two awful eternities - YESTERDAY and TOMORROW - That we break down. It is not the experience of TODAY that drives men mad. It is remorse or bitterness for something which happened YESTERDAY And the dread of what TOMORROW may bring. Let us, therefore, live but ONE day at a TIME. Author Unknown |
