AT THE BEGINNING
At the beginning of time, before man walked the earth
We had elves and fairies, and unicorns, at their birth.
Many and wonderful, these magical creatures were,
At the beginning of time, when life started to stir.

Beauteous cloak that the Earth mother wore in that time,
Was fresh and sparkling with greens, bright, dark, olive and lime.
And her bounties were many, glowing with the magic of love
As creatures began to stir, on land and in the sky above.

Monstrous giants roamed, unicorns came with magical horns,
Short, fat dwarves dug in hills. Elves and sprites in forests were born.
Winged horses flew in the sky, over minotaurs, half bull, half man;
Sparkling fairies on gossamer wings flew freely through the land.

But all of these are legend. Now, mythical creatures of forgotten times
Remembered, only at bedtime in children's stories and rhymes.
The fantasy of that long gone era is lost in the drudge of our days;
We've forgotten their magical mystery, so they've simply faded away.

Some of us mourn for the loss, that man has suffered in his pride
Most don't know what they miss. Its an unnamed ache deep inside.
That nothing, here on earth can fill, in this mundane third dimension.
Man's chased the magic from his life, although it wasn't his intention.
