POETRY
Life is simply a walk through a door,
To a roomful of people you've known before.
MY  DAUGHTER
A smiling face that mirrors mine,
Without the lines brought by time.
Long tresses of golden spinning,
Aren't dark like mine; which are now thinning.
Long, black eyelashes, that flutter and bat,
Shade large green eyes like a caterpillar hat.
My eyes are green, but my sight is dim,
With eyelashes dark, but shorter and thin.
Still, when i look at my teenage daughter,
I see myself years ago. But she is shorter
And her firure is better than mine was, ever.
We're bound by bonds no-one can sever.
For the love of a mother and child,
Lasts more than a little while.
And I know, when I finally go to my rest,
I was the one she loved the best.
Shadows dance in moonlight's glow,
Fleeting figures that sometimes show
Momentary glimpses of gossamer gowns.
If you look, you'll see them, after sundown.
These are the devas of nature's world
Celebrating her beauteous bounties, unfurled.
As they leap and spin in gay abandon,
Glimpsed sometimes by eyes, opened at random.
UNREQUIETED LOVE
There is a burning in your soul,
A feeling that can't be denied.
As you yearn for the impossible
With emotions you try to hide.
Sadly, you feel its sure to happen,
You know in your heart its right.
If only the other person agreed,
You wouldn't cry to sleep each night.
There are others around you now,
Who are trying to get your attention.
But you are blinded by a single star,
Whose capture is your only intention.
So you walk around in dreamland,
With only one thing on your mind.
Until, finally, with a crushing blow,
You realise you're wasting your time.
But really, your time wasn't wasted,
For, while you loved that one,
You experienced emotions that taught you,
What a father can't teach his son.
RAINBOW RISING
Feeling good about yourself with inner peace complete,
Only seeking to help fellow man, with no more need to compete.
With chakras that have been awakened, through lessons that are learnt,
From pain and trial and tribulation, and having your fingers burnt.
Eyes that now see other dimensions, ears that hear their voices.
Third eye that has awakened, gives you many choices
Crystals gleaming in the light, with sparkling colourful energy,
Helping you to help yourself, this is their reason to be.
Auras that are clear and sparkling, with many colours bright,
A world viewed with a loving heart, is a constant delight.
In a space where love abounds, no more need for tears,
Spirit is with you always now, all through the coming years.
Feel the presence of your guides, and without realising,
You are on the pathway home, and you too have a rainbow rising.
WATCHING THE WORLD PASS BY
The trees hold their hands up to the sky,
Their green heads waving in the wind.
Bodies ghostly stand still in red dirt,
Watching the world pass by.
Large granite boulders reaching high,
Stand and shudder against crashing waves.
Salty breezes tear at their bodies,
Watching the world pass by.
Shimmering purple hills where eagles fly,
With tinkling streams that chatter,
Weeping willows along their banks,
Watching the world pass by.
Green rainforests on mountains high,
Water dripping from leafy boughs,
Steam rising and clouds hang low,
Watching the world pass by.
Natures wonders will make you sigh,
So long there, untouched, virgin.
But man comes creeping ever nearer,
And soon, they'll begin to cry.
For the world will no longer be passing by.
Machines will stand with metal arms high,
Rumbling, grinding and crashing as they move.
Still, silent bodies will tremble and fall,
And when its all gone, we too will cry, and wonder why.
The world passed by.
And was gone.
Being Fat
Today, I bought a new hat,
And I looked in the mirror.
I saw I was fat,
Enormously so. It was bad
And made me depressed.
But then, I had
An idea. I'd go on a diet.
I knew I should try it.
Anything would be better than this
Disgusting blob of single bliss.
So the very next day
I threw away,
All of my sweet tasting junk.
Except for a hunk
Of birthday cake,
That my son wanted to take
To school for his lunch.
But I had a hunch,
That he traded it in
With his friends,
For something better.
So I sat and talked myself
Into a diet.
I had to try it
For I didn't want to be fat.
And I told me that
I'd have to be thinner
To be a winner
In this game of life.
It was not for another's opinion
But for me, to feel healthy
For now I felt lazy and sick
But the trick
Would be to convince me
Not to eat quite so much.
My diet was such
A disheartening carbohydrate hell.
But I wanted to feel well.
I determined to do it
To make me feel fit
Which depressed me more
Than the image I saw
When I looked into the mirror.
But after a time
It would be fine,
As I grew slowly thinner.
My clothes fit me better
And I wrote lots of letters,
Telling my friends of my feat.
I thought it was neat
That I could now look good
When I dressed up to go out.
There was no doubt about
It. I felt a hundred percent.
I don't know where it went.
But I didn't want it back,
And there was no lack
Of support from my friends
On this matter.
I would not get fatter
Again..
If you have faith, the mountains could fall,
If you have faith, you will hear my call,
If you have faith, things will come right,
If you have faith, dark turns to light.
Birds Bedtime
Twilight's restful shadows fall,
Trees rustle their leaves, to call
Weary birds home to rest.
Hungry babies call from their nests.
Parents swoop down from dimming skies,
As eager babies stretch and cry.
Others flap and jump around
As they seek their perch above the ground.
A noisy crowd, who push and shove,
Until they find a spot they love.
Then quiet settles upon them all
As crickets wake and start to call.
Cooling shadows creep, gentle breezes blow,
Feathers fluff up as chatter slows.
Soon, the only sounds to be heard,
Are singing crickets and dreaming birds.
IF NATURE WAS FREE
Nature sings a song of creation,
When she is not shackled by intimidation.
The flowers would blossom, the creeks would fill
If man would let her do her will.
The birds would sing, the insects fly.
There'd be less ruin, less animals would die.
The earth would feel her happy abundance,
if she was left alone and things were in balance.

But man interferes continually,
With mining and logging. Disharmony
Abounds, amidst her pain
As he rapes and pillages. She cries in vain.
The flowers are dying, the creeks are dry
As man looks around and wonders why.
Is he really so stupid that he don't understand
What he is doing to his homelands?
