When you are alone, the stars lose their shine
You lose all track of people, you lose all track of time.
Life has lost its meaning, there's nothing you want to do
For,  when you are alone, life's so blue.

There's none to share the laughter, the joy or the tears,
No-one to share the challenges, the fears.
Life has lost its sparkle, and so have your eyes,
For, when you are alone, there's emptiness inside.

Sometimes its of your choosing, sometimes its not.
You feel you need to do something, but what?
You scramble and you scatter with no focus for your cause
For, when you are alone, its a continuous pause.

There' a shadow in your spirit, in your soul
And when you look into your heart, you find a hole.
With a burning need to fill it you search here and yon
For, when you are alone, love is gone.

There's a fear that holds you back from doing as you should
And you cannot find fulfillment, even if you could.
Time,  is the answer , to heal the open wound inside
For, when you are alone, only time can turn the tide.
