Eetion elia
Eetion elia

This Skipper, although cannot be described as common, turns up rather regularly at the fringes of the secondary forests. It flies very rapidly, like most species of the Hesperiidae family and settles on the upperside of leaves with its wings folded closed.

The butterfly has a wingspan of about 25mm with elongate dark brown wings. The basal half of the undersides of the hindwing is silvery white. The abdomen is dark brown with white bands and entirely white beneath.
