I am materialistic, I think that the "magic" in minds is the way in which they arise spontaneously in the universe and allow themselves to study themselves.....sorry, but as far as our objective scientific world view can tell, it's all done without miracles......

......of course, that never stops people from having a different subjective view of reality.......can people with different philosophies at least talk to each other?

I take a holistic approach to my reductionism (ha ha, chew on that!).....I was taught that one of the greatest things human minds do is combine ideas concerning many different topics and in so doing we give our ideas meaning. I am a bibliophile because books have been the medium for this very human activity. I hope that the WWW will give us new ways to combine ideas in even more productive ways.
