Physics Books and some Cosmology

Below are some books by physicists who have been able to get on with the job of exploring the universe without being distracted by Platonic fantasies like quantum consciousness.

I often think of physics as the science of ontology. The mathematical flavor of physics often deflects people. Here are some suggested physics and math books from Christopher Reed.

The Quark and the Jaguar by Murray Gell-Mann. Required reading for all physicists who are tempted to say silly things about biological systems.

Hyperspace: A Scientific Odyssey Through Parallel Universes,Time Warps, and the 10th Dimension by Michio Kaku. How nice to find a physicist who can walk right up to the precipice of the idea that we need "a conscious universe" that collapses all those pesky wave functions, and just walk away. My comments.
