This story I received a long time ago. I kept it because I have a dog named Duke, who means the world to me. With my heart problems, this could be him and it makes me cry to even think about it. Grab some tissues and read this. You will cry too!!
HELLO: AS MOST OF MY FRIENDS KNOW, I MAKE MY LIVING FROM WRITING POETRY AND SHORT STORIES... AND JUST ABOUT A MONTH AGO, I SAW SOMETHING THAT BROUGHT A TEAR TO MY EYES. I WENT HOME A WROTE A POEM ABOUT IT AND YESTERDAY I RECEIVED AN AWARD FOR THE POEM. I'D LIKE TO SHARE IT WITH MY FRIENDS.
A DOG SIT'S WAITING
A dog sit's waiting in the cold autumn sun,
Too faithful to leave and too frightened to run,
He's been here for day's, now with nothing to do,
But he sit's by the road, waiting for you,
He can't understand why you left him that day,
He thought you and he, was stopping to play,
He 's sure you'll come back,
that's why he stays,
How long will he suffer?
How many more days?
His legs have grown weak,
His throat parched dry,
He's sick with hunger, and he falls with a sigh,
He lay's his head down,
and close's his eyes,
I wish you could see...........
HOW A WAITING DOG DIE'S............
