The vision: Our vision is to attain progress thru: 1.Modern education 2.Women empowerment 3.Communal Harmony Goal: 1.To establish institutions of learning in various parts of country at least upto primary level for imparting modern education at a very low cost in areas inhabited by poor section of the society which remains deprived of this kind of expensive education. 2.To establish vocational centers for imparting technical education to women. 3. Promote communal harmony thru seminars and meaningful get to-gathers on various auspicious occasions. Present Activities:
The students in the school are being imparted modern education along with 'Deeni Taleem' (religious education). To develop scientific temper in growing children, an arrangement of computer education has also been made from the session 2003-2004 for all students. The students mainly comprise of the children of poor daily-wage workers and maid-servants, for whom the kind of English education that the school is providing is beyond means. The School has so far made considerable progress with the efforts of more than a dozen teaching and non teaching staff members that include two Aalims. We have raised the school from class Vth to class VIII from the session 2005-06 so as to stop drop outs after class Vth and bring them to VIII level. The Results The results of examinations depict that among these poor children many are highly talented and brilliant. Imagine, if these needy children of the society were left unattended, many of them might have gone un-noticed and their talent gone waste. The saying 'Gudri mein lal chhippey hain' seems true in this case. Majority of the children are extremely poor and are supported by the school with tuition-fee, school-dresses and text-books. Future of Tomorrow These children are the future of tomorrow and it is our duty to give them better future as we plan for our own children so that future generations can recognize themselves with the community that is educated and developed.
Let us water these saplings to make them mighty banyan trees. ========= II. Sir Syed Adult Education and Training center (SADAT): To raise the socio-economic status of poor women of Muslim community and other weaker section of the society, SADET is imparting training in various vocational courses in trades like cutting and tailoring, Embroidery, Mehndi, fabric painting, Candle making, beautician course etc. The center is striving to make these women capable of earning inside their home. Further, the center is also extending helping hand to extremely poor women by donating stitching machines. Thus making their lives better. III. Help and Guidance to other Schools. We also provide necessary guidance and financial help from time to time to other Muslim schools in the form of books, dresses etc. for extremely poor children and brilliants students of other schools. A computer was installed in one school by us to develop scientific temper among the children. IV. Scholarship Programmes: SPEECH searches for financially weaker talented students and provides monthly scholarships to help them complete their education. We have in past arranged scholarships directly from individuals to needy students of other institutions like AMU by bringing their talents to fore. IV. News Letter/magazine SPEECH publishes a news letter "The Speech" in English and "AAWAZ" in Hindi edited by Nafisul Hasan and Dr. A.S. Azmi to spread the message and importance of modern education among common masses. V. Lectures and seminars, articles: We participate in seminars and present papers education to spread the message of modern education and communal harmony. 1. " ISLAM AND WORLD PEACE" presented at a conference on "WORLD PEACE" organized by “Indian Association of Experiment in International Living (EIL), member , UNESCO, Dehradun Chapter” held on September , 16, 2001 at Balbir Singh Sahitya Kendra(Punjabi University ) Dehradun. Speaker: Nafisul Hasan This paper was judged best among all that were presented by speakers representing different faith and religions. 2."Development of Muslim Population, a practical approach"- presented at an international convention of American Federation of Muslims of India (AFMI) at Saboo Siddique Engg. College , Mumbai Dec ,Speaker- Nafisul Hasan Future Plans a. Educational Presently the educational activities of SPEECH are focused at Dehradun and adjoining areas. 1. Establishing Primary schools : we plan to establish primary schools in various parts of Dehradun city and adjoining area for imparting modern education upto primary level at a very low cost in areas inhabited by poor section of the society which remains deprived of this kind of expensive education. We are conducting surveys to find the localities where the requirement of a school is a must. Such areas have been located after one such survey in May and June 2002. We plan to establish branches of Sir Syed Public School in such localities with the cooperation of local residents. Long term: To establish a school of good standard upto the level of 10+2 for imparting modern education at a very low cost to poor section of the society which remains deprived of this kind of expensive education. 2. Public libraries We plan to start public libraries to bring awareness and instill scientific temper in the society. Such libraries will be started at mini scales at different community places where people gather daily for a period of time. 3. Seminars and functions Sir Syed Public School under its banner organises prize, awards and scholarship distribution functions to encourage, inspire and bring forward the unsung talents of our society on Sir Syed Day and seminars on various subjects with emphasis to communal harmony to take our country ahead in education , peace and development. b.
