"Yesterdays"
Yesterday when we were young,
who knew back then
that life had just begun?
Friends that have come and gone.
Just memories that we now live among.
When I think of all the
fun we had.
and the yesterdays that
we left behind.
It sends me back to yesterday
and all you linger
in my mind.
I never knew that
way back then.
that one day
I'd look back.
Reminiscing about
these friends
and the yesterday's
that I now lack.
Time has made us wiser
and opened up our hearts.
Yesterday divided us
and kept some of us apart.
But time has taken a toll on youth
and has made us realize.
It's within the heart that counts,
that measures up our size.
No longer do we look at one
and size them up and down.
Or put them in a category
for us to hang around.
I see familiar faces,
some vague and some not so.
But they always bring
back memories of a
time not so long ago.
Football Games and
all our schemes.
Dancing with our bow's.
I'm sure we all remember
A trip down to the Dean's.
How bout singing
in the choir?
Or being Teacher's pet.
Meeting in the Lobby
every morning where we met.
Playing in our school band
or ditching study hall.
Taking those dreaded showers,
even playing Basket Ball.
Being late for classes.
For this we got detentions.
Going to Mc Donald's
I almost forgot to mention.
Signing in our Slam books.
Passing notes in study hall.
Remember trading pictures?
with everyone in all.
Oh, I can't forget
our year books.
Our momento's of Yesterdays.
A reminder of what we
looked like.
and what we had to say.
Some of us were bookworms
and some of us were fair.
Some of us were ornery
and some just didn't care.
Each one of us were special
in a very unique way.
No matter where we
come from,
it's what we are today.
So when I think of Yesterday's,
and all the fun we had.
I remember each and
every one of you.
and the school of Gavit Glads.
