I climbed a golden stair
I stood among red roses
And an Angel met me there
She was so very lovely
So beautiful to see
She came and took me by the hand
And said she would be mine
She wrapped her arms around me
And said let this be a sign
That she'd be with me forever
For her I'd never pine
Her eyes were green her hair was brown
Her satin skin a sight profound
She was so lovely and so fair
And she had come to meet me there
I fell in love that very moment
My heart went out to her
I kissed her softly on her lips
I stroked her beautiful hair
I put my arms around her
That I might keep her there
But I could not hold on to her
For suddenly I was awake
But I know I'll dream again tonight
For I know what is at stake
I'll climb the golden stair
And not have to speculate
For I know completely in my heart
That my Angel will be there
