ALF

Alf is made out of a cable-control car bought from Kay-Bee toys for $10. Alf DOES NOT use a Marvin core like the rest of the robots here. Alf uses a PIC16C84 running at 4 MHz. ALF was made by Calan for his little sister, Melissa. Alf, because it uses an EEPROM PIC, has the ability to be reprogrammed. Using two button sensors hooked to paperclips on the front bumper, ALF is currently (as of 6/12/99) programmed to move forward until it hits something. When it does, Alf backs up and steers away from the object, then resumes moving forward, hopefully around the object. The purpose of Alf was to learn how to use a PIC.
