Computer Nerd Girl Mission:

To boldly code where no code has gone before.

Computer Nerd Girl Software Adventures:

I finally got around to networking a few of my computers with Windows NT 4.0. It was very simple to set up... I didn't even read the directions. I might have to go back and read a little because I noticed that some of the programs that I had installed before installing NT don't work under NT. Programs like Microsoft Access 97 will run only when I boot to Win 95. I'll have to figure it out eventually but right now I'm entertaining myself with Visual Studio 97 and MS SQL Server.

In my other spare time I've been helping other people with their web pages. Now I'm updating mine... about time eh! I think the last time I updated it was last year. For some reason unknown to me... I've had over a half million hits to this site. I hope my site wasn't featured in an article for the worst html on the web. I really have improved my html skills since last year... I just haven't been showing off on my own site. I really like the Java stuff. I hope your browser is Java enabled so that you can see my cool Java title above.

Computer Nerd Girl Hardware Adventures:

Well... before I installed the NT software I installed the network cards and plugged in the cables. ooohhhh aaaahhh. One of the coolest things about being networked is being able to share my zip drive and CD-Rom between both computers. I have a CD-Rom installed on each computer but only one of the CD-Roms is fast. Now I don't even use that old 6x anymore.

The most uncoolest thing about being networked (according to my family members) is that my network is in the area some people refer to as the dining room. I'll move it before Christmas... but I don't know where.

Is anybody interested in buying a used Pentium 133?

I never got that [subliminal gift idea] laser printer for the [color] other computer. I'm also behind on modem technology... still using a 33.6 modem... can you believe it?

Computer Nerd Girl Travel Adventures:

My last trip was to Oklahoma City where my daughter moved recently. Before that I was interviewing and visiting friends in Los Angeles and I spent some time in Las Vegas. I'll be going back to visit L.A. next month.

Computer Nerd Girl in Vegas:

I didn't make it to Comdex this year. But the last time I was in Vegas I hit the dollar machine for over $300 and I was amazed at how fast the machine just sucked it all back. I think I came out about $36 ahead after all was said and done.

I could go on and on, but the subject has drifted off computers.

That's it for now.
