One of the greatest ways to kick back and relax after fighting with the production of your page...is to chat. For some...it's a way to carry on a friendly convo without the fear of the other person knowing that you are having ... " a bad hair day". For others, it's a way to keep in touch with their friends and loved ones who are far from them ( without long-distance phone bills, I might add. ) Still...whatever your reasons for doing it...It's a blast. The net is full of places you can " chat " with others. These are just a few of the ones that I have used:

PowWowThis is probably the best chat application available on the net. It will allow you to communicate simultaneously with 6 other people;along with the ability to transfer files, play .wav sounds and cruise the web together. As you type...your words appear on the screen. Disclaimer: Not for the typing impaired! ( In other words, everyone else will know that you skipped Mrs. Loveless' Typing 101 class in high school )

mIRCInternet Relay Chat at its' best. A predecessor to Powwow; with a much larger choice of forums in which to carry on your chat addiction. Also allows for file transfers and .wav playing. For those of you afraid to admit that you " bombadeer " type; this might be the route for you to take.

FreeTelGot a mic? A sound card? For those of you who crave the ability to " hear" the person you are chatting with...This is the best " free " application I have found. Yes, PowWow will give you the "voice" option as well...but the people over at FreeTel have it down pat. Worth checking out!

State of InsanityLast,but certainly not least. This is the site that I have called " home " since basically the beginning of my surfing career. I cannot even begin to say enough good things about this place. In the last year I have watched " the State " grow by leaps and bounds. If you aren't quite ready for the whole web page design thang,..then this is a great place to familiarize yourself with decorating on the net. Along with E-mail, chat and access to a wealth of knowledge..this place is hands down a must see!!!...BTW...if ya get there and decide to join...Please tell Seph, I sent ya!!
