Update 5-28: Snoop was on Rap City last night doing an interview. He talked about Biggie and how he talked to him the day before his death and told him how tight Hypnotize was. He was also asked about Tupac and he was acting really strange. He was talking about what great homeboys they were but really went out of his way to talk about the disagreements they had. Nothing specific but it seemed strange to me. Anyone else notice this?

Update 5-26: Yesterday, in the Sunday paper insert Parade, there was some info about Gang Related. One of the producers had written in to correct the paper for saying that Gridlock'd was Tupac's last film. He said that the Gang Related title has been changed to "Criminal Intent" and that Tupac finished it a week before his death. It is scheduled to be released on the one year anniversary of Tupac's death, September 13th, 1997.

Update 5-26: I have been hearing a lot of stuff about the new Tupac album. I am not sure which are rumors and which are true but this is what I have heard. I heard Death Row would be taking all of Tupac's unreleased stuff and putting it out as an album. I find this very hard to believe since Afeni, Tupac's mother, has the rights to all the master tapes now. I also heard that One Nation would be two albums now, one with east coast rappers and one with the west coast rappers like E-40, Spice One and others. Finally, I heard of an entirely new album either called "The Art of War", different from Bone's new one, or "The Prince." This album cover apparently has pencil sketches of Sun Tsu, Niccolo Machiavelli, and Tupac. I have heard this from a couple different places but it may just be a rumor. I will try and find out more but if anyone has info on any of this stuff, please email me.

Update 5-26: There is a new Tupac/Makaveli song on a new compilation coming out. It is produced by Khayree, the one who produces Mac Mall, Mac Dre, Young Lay and others. I dont know what the song is called but there is an ad out for the album. It is called "Khayree Presents The Blackalation-The World is Yours."...The new Boot Camp Clik album is out and I heard it is pretty good but there are no songs with Tupac. On the inside sleeve they said everlasting love to Tupac and the whole Shakur family...In other album news, the new Dogg Pound album is entitled, "Tha After Shock" and is set for release in late summer or early fall...The new Outlawz album is set for release in late summer too. I heard that it is finished but they don't have a label but I also heard Death Row is trying to publicize them and they were counting on Suge being released early. The album is said to contain 16 songs with 4 featuring Tupac.

Update 5-26: I have gotten several letters about another new video which has a Tupac lookalike in it. It is in Lauryn Hill's new video "Sweetest Thing." He is supposedly in a clip where there is a police car in front of a store robbery scene from what it looks like. I heard that if it isn't Tupac there is someone who looks strikingly similar to him. Look for the video and tell me what you think.

Update 5-26: This is a little late but the Oscars did a tribute to Tupac in the good-bye section of the awards. It was the part of the ceremony that Angela Basset hosted. His name and a clip of him were shown, and he was one of the first people honored.

Update 5-23: I would like to take back a statement I made about the Wu-Tang double album which is set for release. I reported that it was pushed back for release until September because a local music store had it posted on their release board as delayed and they told me with sureness that they were correct. I have since contacted Sam Goody and other sources who have told me it is still set for release on June 3rd and that they have the promos to confirm it. Sorry for the mix up.

Update 5-21: I just received news today that Tupac's mother won the case against Death Row for the master tapes to Tupac's material. A court has ordered Death Row Records to return all of Tupac's master tapes to his mother and that his estate has the ownership over them. This should hopefully speed up future releases of Tupac's unreleased material but I am just really happy that the courts did the right thing and gave them back to his mother.

Update 5-20: In site news, I have just added a guestbook type section called Tupac Fan Comments. This will let everyone voice their opinions on different issues so please add your comments anytime you want. Also, I am going to start scheduling live discussions in the chat section so check that page for future times of the discussions. There are going to be plenty of new features on the way this summer so check back. Also, I am looking for people who have hip-hop related tattoos. Please contact me if you or someone you know has one.

Update 5-18: I have heard from several sources that Jay-Z was getting ready to take a trip to KMEL a few weeks back, but then got a startling phone call telling him "You're Next." After the recent kilings of 2Pac and Biggie, Jay-Z cancelled his trip to KMEL. In more KMEL news, Hammer was on KMEL a few nights ago talking about his upcoming CD, and apparently 2pac helped him name it and worked on it with him and is in at least one song. Daz and Kurrupt and a lot of other rappers are featured on it too.

Update 5-18: Kidada Jones was on Screen Scene last week. She talked about how Suge and Tupac were on their way to pick her up. She also said that most people did not know that Tupac was very romantic. He wrote and sang love songs to her everyday before she went to bed. She also has a tattoo of Tupac on her shoulder. It is the picture from Book 1 of All Eyez on Me of Tupac looking up while sitting in a chair.

Update 5-18: I finally saw that 3XCRAZY video but I really don't see as much of a connection as there was supposed to be with Tupac. I had heard that they were really dissing him but the only real connection I saw in the video was the black BMW and the white Cadillac. I heard that they say his name in the song though so let me know if anyone has more info on this video...In release news, Bone was postponed until July 8th and for all you Wu-Tang fans out there like myself, Wu-Tang was pushed back to September.

Update 5-13: In site news, there is a new discussion section which is like a chatline available from the main page. There really hasn't been anyone in there lately but I would like to schedule a discussion where I can answer your questions live. Given that the server is running alright, I will be in there tonight and tomorrow at 9pm PST if anyone would like to get on to ask me questions. I look forward to talking to everyone. In additional news, I would like to point out that Big Syke's album is on sale now but must be special ordered through music stores. Also available and for sale online is the "Tough Love" book about Tupac. To order, go here!

Update 5-13: There was finally an answer to the question of who took the sample from who concerning the "I Ain't Mad at Cha" vs. "Don't Leave Me" debate. BLACKstreet's Teddy Riley recently told MTV News that it was quite accidental. "It was a coincidence that Tupac did the same sample," Riley explained. "We're on the same label. It was done without the intentions of us knowing that he did it, or we did it."

Update 5-13: I just finished watching the new video and I would give it a 7 out of 10. I was disappointed that it didn't show any concert footage and didn't play one Tupac song. It is kind of underground but has old home video footage from when Tupac was just starting out. It does interviews with all his old friends and really shows the real Tupac as the fun, intelligent person he was rather than just the gangsta rapper that the punks at MTV would like the public to believe. There is footage of Tupac walking near Times Square in NYC freestyling and he confronts a bootlegger selling Digital Underground. It is really cool seeing him act the way he did behind the scenes. It is sad though to see the Las Vegas footage because it brings up bad memories of when he died. I think they could have done a much better video but I recommend buying this because you see the personal side of Tupac. It comes with a bonus CD which has a lot of interesting stuff like the meaning of the Killuminati. There is also info on One Nation in the video including the guest appearance list. I recommend getting it a Best Buy because they are only charging $17.99 opposed to Blockbuster's $24.99. Let me know what you think.

Update 5-13: Everyone be on the lookout for a new video from a group called MOP. The video is entitled "Dead and Gone" and I say this because I got a report from someone that if you listen closely right around when the words, "The set up" comes on the screen, you can hear the same "Suge Shot Me/Him" clip that is in "Bomb First." I haven't seen the video but I would like to answer the question about where that clip is coming from.

Update 5-13: America's Most Wanted had a special on Biggie last weekend. They interviewed his mother and she was talking about what good friends Tupac and Biggie were before the beef. They also interviewed Little Caesar who talked about how upset Biggie was when he found out Tupac was dead. They even interviewed Faith Evans who said she never slept with Tupac. I believed all of it except Faith's story. In other Biggie news, I have been asked what the significance of the three men in the Hail Mary video playing Super Nintendo was and somebody pointed out that Biggie is playing Super Nintendo in the Juicy video. It is a long shot but does anyone think there is a connection?

Update 5-13: I need to make a correction from a previous update about Death Row trying to sell the BMW that Tupac was gunned down in. Death Row Records approached the Nevada Resort that in 1988 purchased the bullet-riddled car in which Bonnie and Clyde were killed to see if it would buy the car in which Tupac was murdered last September.

Update 5-13: I called Blockbuster video and they confirmed that they had the new "Thug Immortal" video in stock and that it was going on sale today. They quoted me a price of $24.99 which included the bonus CD of Tupac's last interview. I am going to buy the video this afternoon and will be posting a review of it later today so check back here later.

Update 5-13: I finally saw the "Smile" video by Scarface and Tupac. It is a really weird video and I'm not sure what the message is supposed to be but I heard that it cost a lot to make. The guy in the video that is strung up looks a lot like Tupac but there are a couple shots that are obviously not him. I heard that his estate contributed some clips to that video too so it is basically a combination of previous clips of Tupac and his body double. The guy used is a Tupac look alike from Ohio. The double was brought in and made to look exactly like Tupac (bald head, tattoos, even bullet wound scars from the first shooting). It was a good video but I could tell right away that it wasn't Tupac.

Update 5-7: I heard about a new video that is on Rap City and I would like some feedback on it. It is called "Keep It On The Real" by 3XCRAZY. In the video, they are rapping at a casino, constantly throwing a W upside down. They also rap in a boxing ring, and after that, they get in a fight in the hotel lobby. At the end of the video, a black BMW is traveling down a desert road, a white Caddillac pulls in front of the car, a group of women get out, take a man out of the BMW and take off with him, leaving the BMW. If this is an accurate description of the video, I would appreciate it if everyone could give me their interpretations of the video and it's similarity to Tupac's situation in Las Vegas.

Update 5-7: I just got done listening to the new Bone/Tupac song and it is incredible. It is called "Thug Love." I definitely recommend listening to it. To listen to the sound, click here! The new Bone album is scheduled for release on July 8th and if the rest of the songs are as tight as this one, it is going to be one great album.

Update 5-2: I didn't realize this but I found out that Death Row tried to auction off the bullet ridden black BMW that Tupac was gunned down in. It turns out nobody would buy it. The reason I found this out was because Budget Rent-A-Car tried to do the same thing with the door from the Suburban that Biggie was gunned down in. Two LAPD detectives seized the door just prior to the auction as evidence in the investigation. The money raised was supposed to go to charity.

Update 5-2: For everyone that has been asking for "Gang Related" info, here is what I know. Tupac plays a detective who has been killing off drug dealers on the down low and reporting the murders as being "gang related". The film also features Lela Rochon and is slated for release in late summer.

Update 5-2: Snoop and 92.3 The Beat apparently made up. They are playing all sorts of Snoop and Death Row material now. Snoop came on The Beat and busted a freestyle on Friday apologizing for the way he was acting saying that the fans should have called the Beat asking for a quicker resolution to the problem. Theo did like a one hour tribute to him after that...Nate Dogg will be releasing an album soon called G-Funk Classics. Guest appearences on the album include Snoop, Kurupt and Tupac...Also, Snoop is going to be at Lollapalooza this year.

Update 5-2: I have been getting a lot of mail concerning the new Scarface video which just premiered for the song "Smile" with Tupac. I haven't seen the video yet but this is what happens. The video begins around a shooting site similar to the crime scenes of Biggie and Tupac. It then drifts off to a bizarre place which looks like it is near a graveyard. Here there is an individual tied up on a pole who looks exactly like Tupac. His face is never shown but you see a bald head, the trademark eyebrows, and his mouth reciting the words. In the end, someone lets him down off the pole and he disappears into some water as if he drowns. That's when Scarface says, "A moment of silence...To All The Homies that passed away....peace to my homie Pac." I haven't seen the video so I can't make any judgements but my view is that they used the same tricks to make Tupac look like he was there as they did when "So Many Tears" was made because Tupac was in jail. In that video, they only show parts of him that a double could easily do. This technique is also used to duplicate Tupac in Master P's video for "Is there a heaven for a gangsta?".

Update 4-28: Here is what I know about the new video. I spoke to a person close to the estate that tipped me off that it would be delayed past the April 29th release date because of legal problems but that some stores may release it anyway. That is just what has happened. It has been delayed until May 13th or June 6th at this time but I have several reports of people who have purchased it at Best Buy and Blockbuster so some stores have pre-released it. My advice is to get out there and buy it before it is pulled off the shelves. It is called "Thug Immortal" and is around $30 but comes with a bonus CD of Tupac's last interview.

Update 4-24: Dr. Dre was recently discussing the deaths of the Notorious B.I.G. and Tupac Shakur, and how it has affected various rappers. We all know that Snoop Doggy Dogg postponed the start of his tour because he "didn't wanna be next." Dr. Dre said that for him, New York is now out of the question. "Ice Cube cannot go to New York, Snoop cannot go to New York, Dr. Dre cannot go to New York," Dre explains. "I don't really care who says its cool, 'ah you can come to my house and stay,' no its not cool. Because you got that one idiot out there that says, 'yo, I loved Biggie and its because of L.A. that he's dead, and you're from L.A., so I got to get you.' We can't have that, I'm not going to New York, straight up."

Update 4-24: I have heard nothing but terrible things about that "Stop the Gunfight" album. I heard that it is a total rip off. Apparently this guy named Trapp comes out of the South (I think Houston) and the album is under his name but he releases a remake of "Runnin'" and removes Dramacydal and puts his own voice on it. He also makes a remix of "Let's Get It On" but he takes out Grand Puba's and Heavy D's voices. This guy is just trying to make money off of Tupac and Biggie so don't fall for this "Trapp".

Update 4-23: The mother of slain rapper Tupac Shakur is suing Death Row Records for $17 million, claiming the hip-hop label failed to pay royalties and cheated Shakur out of millions of dollars. The federal lawsuit filed Friday follows a $7.1 million lawsuit Death Row filed against Shakur's estate earlier this month, demanding reimbursement for money allegedly advanced to Shakur for cars, houses, jewelry and other expenditures, including recording and video costs. Besides seeking unpaid royalties and repayment of disputed expense billings, the countersuit from Shakur's estate seeks to invalidate a handwritten 1995 contract Shakur signed with Death Row while in prison. It also asks that 152 unreleased Shakur recordings, which his representatives cannot locate, be ordered into court-appointed receivership. The suit is a response to "the deafening silence from Death Row," family attorney Richard Fischbein said Saturday. The primary dispute between Afeni Shakur, the rapper's mother, and Death Row is over money made by "All Eyez on Me," a double album by Shakur released shortly before the rapper was gunned down last September in Las Vegas. Some 5 million copies were sold. Shakur died with little more than $150,000 yet Death Row reaped more than $100 million from his music, Fischbein said. "He was paid less than a million dollars as far as we can see," Fischbein said. "They've never opened the books so that we can see." The company wrongly billed Shakur's account for other's expenses in a "pattern of fraud and deception involving millions of dollars," Fischbein said. Named in the lawsuit were Death Row and its imprisoned president, Marion "Suge" Knight, who is serving a nine-year term for violating probation from a 1992 assault. Two lawyers for Death Row, Ed Corey and David Kenner, did not return phone calls Saturday, but Kenner, who's also named in the lawsuit, on Friday denied any wrongdoing or mismanagement. Citing the handwritten contract, Death Row claims Shakur's unreleased recordings are its property. The company also is seeking 20 percent of Shakur's earnings over the last 18 months as a management fee. In a separate development, Shakur's mother got $5 million in advances from Death Row distributor Interscope Records after threatening to bar the release of her son's posthumous "Makaveli: The Don Killuminati" album. Released in October, it has sold more than a million copies. Death Row has other troubles. Creditors claim the company owes them millions of dollars for goods and services. A $75 million lawsuit seeks to have the rap label put into receivership to protect its assets. The company also is under federal investigation for alleged links to drug trafficking, money laundering and extortion.

Update 4-23: The story on the feud between 92.3 The Beat and Snoop is kind of sketchy but this is what I have. I heard that Snoop was on Power 106 complaining that The Beat never plays "Vapors" and that he had made a song about them. So The Beat made a song about him that went "Snoop's outside his head say Snoop's outside his head". I heard that The Beat didn't stop the Death Row music either because Tupac is still played and To Live & Die in L.A. is #1 on their countdown, although 92.3 cuts out when Tupac gives that shout out to 106, and they have also been playing Tha Dogg Pound. I heard that Death Row is also close to the Beat because almost every weekend there is a Death Row weekend or at least someone from Death Row.

Update 4-23: In some short news stories, Kurupt will be featured on the upcoming Outlawz album...It is rumored that Tha Dogg Pound's guest verse on Warren G's "What We Go Through" was refused clearence by Death Row and it was because Warren G's rhymes on "What's Love Got To Do With It" was suspected to be a shot at Suge Knight...In Death Row news, it is rumored that Suge's brother in law (Mr Norris Anderson) has been running Death Row under the direction of the jailed Suge Knight and also that a federal grand jury in Los Angeles has spent weeks looking into Death row's financing. The label's start up money is alleged to have been supplied by a jailed drug dealer named Michael Harris and that Suge's Club 662 was a front for laundering gang money...I also wanted to let everyone know that the book on Tupac called "Rebel for the Hell of it" is out and costs $12.95.

Update 4-23: Warren G recently held a concert in Zurich, Switzerland. While he was rapping, he was talking about things. One of them was as he was talking about the East Coast / West coast stuff, he said something like, "My man Snoop will look out for peace between us and the East coast rappers." He mentioned a lot of names like Nate Dogg, and Eazy-E in his dedications but he never mentioned Tupac. Nothing against Warren G but it really seems from this and his interviews that he really didn't care much for Tupac. Just an observation.

Update 4-20: "Sister to Sister" Magazine's May 1997 issue has Keisha Morris-Shakur(Tupac's Ex-Wife) on the cover. She's being interviewed in the magazine about life being married to Tupac. She will also be appearing on BET on Monday at 6:30EST to talk about Tupac. The magazine is in stores now and the second part will run in the June 1997 issue.

Update 4-18: I heard an interesting story on Biggie today. Apparently about a year ago, Biggie was on an East Coast radio station, and he dissed E-40 on the air. Shortly there after, Biggie went to the Bay, and his car was surrounded and a cellular phone was handed to him. On the phone was E-40, telling him that he better watch his back, and that he would let him pass through the Bay this time, and this time only. I thought it was an interesting story since Tupac and E-40 were tight.

Update 4-18: In Snoop news, he recently went on the air of one of the top two California radio stations, this being Power 106 and dissed 92.3 The Beat. In response, 92.3 The Beat took all of the Death Row material out of circulation. As of yet I don't know why he dissed them.

Update 4-18: The new song from Tupac and Snoop which will be on Snoop's new album is possibly going to be "Streetlife." I will have it on the Movies & Sounds page in Real Audio this weekend.

Update 4-18: The show Strange Universe will be running a two part story on the conspiracy stories surrounding Tupac's murder including the alive theory which I would expect the show to focus on. I will be appearing on the show in an interview. It airs tonight so check your local listings for air times.

Update 4-16: I would like to invite everyone to check out the newest feature of The Unofficial Tupac Homepage. It is an in depth article I wrote about the 1994 shooting of Tupac in New York City and the involvement of Bad Boy records. I would like to get some feedback on my article so please send me reviews of it. I think everyone will really be interested in what I have to say.

Update 4-16: Everybody hold up on buying that new Tupac and Biggie single that is out with the special collector's edition sticker on it. It is a real scam from what I have heard to make money off their rivalry and deaths. I have heard that the new single is just "Runnin" which isn't limited edition and is available on The Million Men Strong soundtrack. The only bonus I have heard is that there is a remix of it on there too but don't think that it is anything new. However, I received a song off of "One Nation" in the mail today and it was really good. I am very anxious for this album after hearing this track.

Update 4-15: Although I was stopping video sales this week, I have been forced to put an immediate halt on sales because the wonderful people at MTV sent me a letter demanding that I take the ad down. Sure MTV has the right to do that, but I find it funny how they used my website in the story they did about the alive rumors last January and gave me no credit or compensation for the use of my site but get nasty when the tables are turned. It just goes to show what MTV has turned in to. I would like to thank MTV for stopping the only video available to Tupac fans and picking on a student whose only crime was making mixed tapes for these dedicated fans. If there are any lawyers out there who would like to take a lawsuit against MTV for violating my copyrighted material, I would love to hear from you.

Update 4-14: I have a bunch of short newsbriefs about Tupac and Death Row. I heard that "One Nation" will be released under Death Row which really surprises me but I also heard speculation in the Source about Quincy Jones wanting to release it. It features the Boot Camp Clik members Buckshot and Smiff n Wesson...Concerning Jay-Z's song dissing Tupac, I heard that Jay-Z did that song out of love and not as a dis but an example of what would have went on like "Makaveli you dis me so I dis you." Apparently he didn't mean it in any way but I still think it was disrespectful...I heard Kurupt bought Foxy Brown a phat diamond ring...I also heard that there will be another Tupac and Snoop song on Snoop's upcoming album, "The Last Meal." The name of the album may lead people to believe that Snoop is leaving Death Row but when MTV asked Snoop if this would be his last time working for Deathrow, he replied "Death Row for life".

Update 4-14: The new song from the Tupac and BONE collaboration is very appropriate and the title, "The Art of War", is not coincidental. This is the title of one of Machiavelli's books and also the title of a more famous book by name sake, Sun Tzu, a Chinese Philosopher. In the Art of War, Sun Tzu says, "Know your enemy and know yourself, and you shall never perish in a thousand battles." It shows how Tupac was finally moving towards his born destiny, that of a leader.

Update 4-14: In release news, the "Stop the Violence" album with Tupac and Biggie will be out April 22nd. I found out about a single that was supposedly released this week too. It is called "Stop the GunFire" or "Stop The Gunfight". It is by Tupac, Biggie, and Trapp but this report may be being confused with the "Stop the Violence" album. As for "One Nation", I have heard May and I have heard the end of April. It was listed on a release date sheet at a mall and one store even let someone reserve a copy so it should be out soon. I also heard the new BONE album may have been moved up to May but I really couldn't confirm that.

Update 4-14: Almost everyone who has written me has thought that it says either "Suge Shot Me" or "Suge Shot Him" at the beginning of Makaveli. People have debated whether it is Tupac talking but one interesting theory is that it was Fula, the Outlaw who was murdered, who said it since the album came out before his death. It may just be Death Row trying to make more money too or may not even be what is said. One viewer had the lyric analyzed by using Uleads Media Studi
