January 29th, 1997, a group of college students left their homes and began making their way towards the unknown...Walt Disney World. These students did not know what to expect. They only knew 1 thing...they were going to be working at the "happiest place on Earth." They came from Philadelphia, New York, New Jersey, Indiana, Chicago, Nebraska, Florida, Ohio, and New Orleans, LA. They all arrived and shyly made their way into Vista Way, their home for the next 4 months. As they stood in line, some talked, others tried to avoid eye contact. They went through the line, not knowing which way to go, got their keys and walked to their new home. Once at the apartment, they looked around and wondered why they didn't bring their beds with them? Where was the t.v. that they could not live without? Why didn't the refrigerator have food in it? Why didn't they have mom send enough food for 4 months? They also wondered how they could get the bedroom with the bathroom and not have to share it with 4 other guys (or girls)? Of course the biggest question of them all: What the %@*! did they get themselves into? So, slowly they arrived, one by one, and the apartment began to look like a home. They all introduced themselves: Kirk was from New York, I was from New Orleans, Joe from Philly, Chris from Ohio/Florida State, Jason from indiana, and Kevin from Chicago. Then came the extended roommates from across the hall: Brenda from New Jersey (now Florida), Brandy from Florida, Stacie and Naomi from Nebraska. (There were two others, but we don't really talk about them too much.) Then came the REALLY extended roommates from across the apartment complex: Carolyn from New Jersey and Jamie from Chicago. So, that first night they were there, they got used to one another and thus began the greatest, worst, scariest, most fun, most boring, most exciting, most wonderful, most horrible, most unsure, and yet perfect 4 months of their lives...
Thus began my Walt Disney World College Program (WDWCP) experience. It was awesome and scary all at the same time. I had never been that far from home before, I had never only worked and not went to school. I sure the hell didn't know how to cook. It was really mind blowing to me. It was a "Whole New World". Couldn't resist the Disney reference there. Anyhow, below are pictures from the whole college program experience. I know I left some people out, forgive me Lil Sis and others, it is just up there was about the first moments and the roomies. Don't worry, everyone will get their recognition soon enough. So, without hesitation, here is the

Don't forget to download a part of the SpectroMagic Parade Theme. Close your eyes and just imagine (or remember) what it was like. This is for y'all, Brenda, Stacie, and Brandy who I remember getting teary-eyed just by thinking about it.
