Jesus comes to bring fire on the earth

Luke 12:49-53

49 I am come to send fire on the earth{1} ; and what will I, if it be already kindled?{2}

50  But I have a baptism to be baptized with{3} ; and how am I straitened{4} till it be accomplished{5} !

51  Suppose ye that I am come to give peace on earth?{6} I tell you, Nay; but rather division{7} :

52  For from henceforth there shall be five in one house divided, three against two, and two against three. {8}

53  The father shall be divided against the son, and the son against the father{9} ; the mother against the

daughter, and the daughter against the mother; the mother in law against her daughter in law, and the

daughter in law against her mother in law.

This story is an example of the baptism of fire that will occur at the 2nd Coming of Christ. Jesus is telling
us that He can not baptize us in fire until HE has been baptized by fire. Jesus' baptism of fire takes place
when HE dies and is resurrected by the Father. The division that Jesus speaks of here is the separation
of the righteous and the wicked that will occur at the 2nd Coming. it is also an admonition to be about
the Father's business so we will
have a reward for our labor in the Lord on that day. So, there will be a division of the righteous and the
wicked AND there will be a division amongst God's people between those who have rewards and those who do not.

Interpretation:

When will Jesus bring fire upon the earth? When our works are tried by fire at the 2nd Coming of Christ.

Interpretation:

Jesus can not baptize us with fire until He is baptized with fire which means
He must die and be resurrected. Here He is expressing his wish that His
baptism of fire (Resurrection) had already taken place.

Interpretation:

Jesus has already been baptized in water unto repentance (the type). So, the baptism He
is speaking of can not be the baptism in water. Jesus is speaking of his baptism by fire
which would occur when He was resurrected by the Father.

Interpretation:

In the Greek straightened means restrained. To be restrained is the type.

Interpretation:

What must be accomplished before Jesus brings fire on the earth? His own
baptism by fire at his resurrection.

Interpretation:

At the 2nd Coming Jesus will come in Power and Great Glory! For there must a
separation of the righteous from the unrighteous before the Millenial Reign of Christ
can begin. This is the time of peace.

Interpretation:

Jesus will divide the sheep from the goats. Matthew 24:32

Interpretation:

The key to intepreting this lies in 1 Chronicles 11. See 1 Chronicles 11:21 especially.
The three represent the Three Mighty Men in David's Kingdom. The two represent James
and John who had their mother who asked to sit on Jesus right and left side.

Interpretation:

Here Jesus is emphasizing the division of the righteous from the unrighteous and the
division between those who have rewards and those who do not at the 2nd Coming.
True doctrine always divides. For some will choose to continue to believe a lie and be damned.
Others will awake from sleep (apathy) and drunkeness (false doctrine) and come to a knowledge
of the truth. Jesus told us that whoever does the will of my Father in heaven is my brother and
sister and mother. So, the division between relatives Jesus speaks of here is the division of
rewards received at the 2nd Coming.
