Keeping the Fig Tree

Proverbs 27:18

¶Whoso keepeth{1} the fig tree shall eat the fruit {2} thereof:

so he that waiteth{3} on his master{4} shall be honoured{5} .

The fig tree represents our fruit on Resurrection Day. Those who keep the fig tree represent those who have entered into the Sabbath Rest of God. They have ceased from their own works to be about the works of the Father. This is what it means to "keep the fig tree": to be about the Father's work. Those "keeping the fig tree" will be the ones that will enjoy their harvest on Resurrection Day. They are the ones whose works will result in gold and precious stones at the Lord's return. They are waiting on the Master, watching and praying for His return. The Master is the Lord Jesus Christ who will appear from heaven at the 2nd Coming. Those who wait (watch and pray) will be honored by their Master on that Day.
