The Heavens: Type of the Resurrection

Psalms 19:1-6

1 ¶<> The heavens declare the glory of God{1} ; and the firmament sheweth his handywork.{2}

2 Day unto day{3} uttereth speech{4} , and night unto night{5} sheweth knowledge{6} .

3 [There is] no speech nor language , [where] their voice is not heard {7} .

4 Their line is gone out through all the earth{8} , and their words to the end of the world{9} . In them hath he set a tabernacle for the sun,

5 Which [is] as a bridegroom coming out of his chamber{10} , [and] rejoiceth{11} as a strong man to run a race .

6 His going forth [is] from the end of the heaven{12} , and his circuit unto the ends of it : and there is nothing hid from the heat thereof {13} .

The Glory that the heavens are declaring is the Resurrection! This is discovered when we examine what Jesus told Martha and Mary before resurrecting Lazarus. Jesus said, "Did I not tell you that if you believed, you would see the glory of God?"

What was the glory of God that they saw? Lazarus' Resurrection! Thus, the heavens are a type of the Resurrection! This is further revealed in the writings of Paul about the Resurrection in 1 Corinthians 15. Also, Daniel 12 mentions those who are wise who "will shine like the brightness of the heavens and those who lead many to righteousness like the stars for ever and ever." This is also a reference to the Resurrection
