JUST WHERE ARE WE HEADED?
I feel compelled to write this even tho I don't expect anyone to pay any attention to anything I have to say. After all, who has heard of Pat Riddle? I'll bet you never have. I am just one of the millions and millions peons or lower class people who blend in together. We feel we have no voice in what happens to our environment.
Sure, we can voice our opinions to our congressmen, if they even read the mail we send them. One look at the return address, and it is no one he knows, and it may never get opened. But lets say it does get opened and he does read it, he will have his laugh or maybe just a chuckle and in the waste basket it will go.
When I was growing up I went to a country school. Do you remember the one room school that taught eight grades plus kindergarten? Now let me tell you, those were the days. It didn't matter if you were 7 years old or 12 years old, when we went outside to play ball EVERYONE played the same ball game. The younger ones learning from the older ones. We all grew very close to our teacher who we had year after year.
About once a month we had a preacher who came by for about 2 hours and gave us our religious teachings. I know most people go to church every Sunday, but when you have a parent who doesn't believe how else are you going to get any religion when your young. My father wouldn't let my mother or use kids go to church. If it hadn't been for Rev. Lindy, I probably would have grown up like a lot of kids are today.
Now we are told we can't have religion in our schools. My goodness people, WAKE UP. Don't deprive the children of such an important part of their lives. Of course there are Catholic, Protestants, Jews, etc. but there are ways to teach from the Bible that are acceptable for all. Haven't you noticed that since we took religion from the schools the crime rate among the teens has been climbing? Haven't you noticed that suddenly we need bigger prisons, jails, detention centers? Is this what we want for our children? COME ON....WAKE UP....LETS TEACH RIGHT FROM WRONG....LETS TEACH THE TEN COMMANDMENTS. Let's give our children the same opportunity we had to go to heaven. Without the teachings where will your children end up at?
Also, I believe it is time to quit trying to keep up with the Joneses, Smiths and the rest of them. I think people should learn to live on one income and put the mother back in the home raising her own children. The babysitters and day care centers don't care how YOUR children turn out. All they care about is the money. Let's take the mothers out of the work place and put them back in the home where they belong. Oh yes, I realize there are some single moms out there. I realize they have to work but isn't that only one income in the home? Sometimes a woman has to work because of a disabled husband. But where it can be, let the mother, who is the one who really cares about the child, stay in the home and care for him, love him, teach him, help him to grow up to be something some day. Even take him to church.
We should put the discipline back in the homes also. There has always been and always will be child abuse but by making the parents afraid of disciplining there children is also child abuse. We are letting them grow up to be and do whatever they please and not teaching them morals. I for one think this law has caused a lot more juvenile delinquents than it has saved child abuse.
