This site consists of a day by day chronology of Korea and the Korean War from the date of its liberation from the Japanese by the Russians (in the North) and the United States (in the South) to the date of the end of the Korean War. It will also consist of trivial information such as the kinds of cars on the roads in various countries in 1950-1953, radio and television programs that were popular then, etc. Intention is to immerse the reader in the time period.
Information presented in these pages is culled from books and websites about the Korean War and that time period. All sources are given for each listing, and in order to obtain a full understanding of the events of each day it is recommended that you read the books cited (and support the authors of them - buy the books!)and visit the websites.
