My grandfather has a "trick" knee.

I use those quotes because they don't do any tricks. It's actually an awful expression. If something functions less than it should, it should not parade around proclaiming it can do tricks.

That was off topic. My grandfather, knee and all, walked to his car. It was parked on a patch of ice. He opened his car door and immediately slid into the corner of it, banging his "trick" knee against the edge.

He thinks it's fixed now.
