Secrets are a funny thing. No one admits to telling them, yet everyone knows them but the people most directly involved. It’s a mystery how they travel around.
One day, my friend Dave told me a secret while we were waiting for Phil at a video store. However, since these things do get around in small towns, I had already heard from another source. I explained this to Dave, and we went over the list of people who were in on it. Then I realized that both me and Dave arrived early, and I wasn’t sure if Dave knew what time Phil was going to arrive.
"I told Phil two," I explained so that he knew what time to expect our third party.
I was surprised at his anger. He started screaming, "You told Phil too? You have such a big mouth! You weren’t supposed to tell anyone! I can’t believe you told him too!"
"No, I told him two o’clock."
"Oh."
