i am a rootless woman. i always have been. and not just because i've moved so often.

my grandparents on my dad's side are survivors.
holocaust survivors.
the only thing is, most of their families didn't survive.

so i don't really have a family tree.
it's stunted.
for all i know, i'm descended from a long line of horse thieves.
or worse.
