Once up the stairs, Nick and Lauren arrived in a room with small windows on top of the walls, almost touching the ceiling.

"Guess we're back in the basement. I can't believe we fell from so high. It took us a long time to get back to this floor." Nick said.

"Do you think we could find everyone else?"

"I don't think so. They've probably found their way out a long time ago."

"Yeah. We'll have to do it on our own." Lauren said. "Just watch the floor, we might end up in the same room where we were earlier, the one where the floor collapsed. I wouldn't want to fall down again, and have to climb up those stairs again."

"Do you think we could reach those windows and get out that way?" Nick asked her.

"They don't seem to have any handle or anything to open them. We'd have to break the glass to get out. We risk serious cuts. If all else falls, I'd try it, but I'd rather look for another exit before."

"I think you're right, it'd be dangerous."

"I'm sorry?"

"I said : it'd be dangerous."

"No, before that."

"I think you're right..."

"Sweet words. Say that again."

Nick clenched his teeth, but smiled. "I think you're right."

She burst out laughing. He laughed too, and grabbed her hand. "Come on, we gotta get out of here."
