Brian came in Nick's room and saw him laying down on his stomach on his bed, staring at the television and a Nintendo controller in his hands. Lauren was sitting on the floor, in front of the television, leaning against the bed, playing video games too.

Brian laughed. "Well, well, well. What do you know? 24 hours ago you hated each other, now you're basically inseparable. We should lock people up together more often. It would bring peace to society." He sat next to Nick and looked at the game.

"Who's player number two?" He asked.

"She is." Nick said.

"She's kicking your ass Nick."

"I know, she's already beat me three times in a row."

"And you're not angry?" Brian said, amazed. "How comes?"

"Cause I beat her like ten times before that!" Nick laughed.

"It's not fair." Lauren said. "I had never played Mortal Combat before!"

Brian laughed and got up. "There is a basketball court down the street, according to Cindy. Everybody is going. Are you guys coming as well?"

"Yeah," Nick said. "She's starting to understand the game. We should stop playing." He got up. "I'm going to put on more comfortable clothes. Can you wait for me downstairs?"

"Sure Nick." Lauren said and Brian and her left Nick's room.

Once the had closed the door, Brian turned to Lauren as they walked towards the elevator. "What really happened in that building Lauren? Nick hated you so much... Now it seems like you're the closest friends in the world."

Lauren smiled. "Things change."
