CHAPTER 2
"So, what's going on?" Brian asked. "Is everything alright?" He started to worry.
"Everything's fine." Liam said, to Brian's relief. He paused, then continued. "Y'know, I've been working for you for about a month now."
"Yeah..." Brian said, almost adding 'so what?'. It was late, he was tired and Liam was bothering him for what seemed of the most unimportant matter.
"I might not have been working as your bodyguard for long, but I knew you well before I was hired."
Brian looked at him, wondering where Liam was going with this.
"I have been following your group overseas since you've released your first single. I'm glad you guys are popular in the US now. And I couldn't be happier than I am now that I'm working for you."
Brian's jaw dropped to the floor. Him, a fan? The guy was well over 6 feet and weighed, to Brian's estimation, about 200 pounds, and not 200 pounds of fat, but of muscles. He was probably their strongest bodyguard and nobody would wish to get in an argument with him. The kind of guy you'd never imagined getting into pop music.
"That's, uh, great." Brian stammered. "So, you like our music?"
"Not really."
"Huh? But you just said..."
"That I've been following you for 3 years. I've never said I loved your music. I do have the album, though. I love listening to all of your voices, but especially yours." He said, looking directly at Brian.
'What the f...' Brian thought.
Liam came closer to Brian. "You have no idea how thrilled I was when they hired me. And I had to wait a month to be sure that they trusted me. And you trust me too, don't you?"
Brian didn't answer. He was afraid of what Liam meant, even if he had no idea what it was.
"Don't you?" Liam repeated. Once again he got no answer. "You see me as someone who's protecting you. I'd never hurt you... I could only please you. In every way.
Brian suddenly became very aware than he wore nothing but a towel.
