CHAPTER 6
They went pretty far from the house. They had been driving for about an hour. They saw a beach on their left. It was a small island. One of Nick's favorite island.
"Every once in a while I come here to relax, to get away from everything. To listen to silence. This island's deserted. Nobody ever comes here. I don't know why, because it's gorgeous. I love this place."
"So this is where we're going?" She asked.
"Only if you want to."
"Of course I do! Let's go."
He drove the boat closer to the island, then turn it off.
"We're going to have to walk in the water." Nick said. "I can't get any closer to the shore. But it's not deep. You don't even have to take off your shorts."
He got up and lifted the top of the seat he was sitting on. Under it was a bunch of stuff for the boat. He took out the anchor, tied it up to the boat and threw it in the water.
"It that your anchor? It doesn't look like the one you'd see in movies."
"Well, my boat's kinda smaller than the ones you see in movies. It's not a liner!" He laughed.
"Stop laughing. I don't know anything about boats!" She pouted. Nick laughed harder and jumped outside the boat.
"Come on, get in the water already!"
"No, you've offended me." She tried to look hurt, but you could see she was trying to hold back her laughter.
"Alright. Then I'll take care of it."
He reached up to the side of the boat and pulled her arm. She came closer to the edge and looked at him.
"Don't even think about it, Nick."
"Try to stop me." He put his hands on her waist and lift her up. He brought her outside the boat and took her in his arms. She was standing just a few inches above the water. She wrap her arms around Nick's neck for support.
"If you let go of me..." She warned.
"What are you going to do?" I laughed.
"I... Well, I... I don't know, but you'll see."
"Ooh, I'm so scared! Take a deep breath honey, cause you're going down."
"Nick, no! Don't you dare! Nickolas Gene Carter, I swear you'll regret this your whole life! Nick stop! I still have my shorts! Don't do it! Put me back on -"
He let go of her. She felt in the water with a big splash. She got back to the surface and looked at Nick angrily.
"I hate you!"
"Oh, you don't mean that!"
She smiled. "No, I don't. But I'll get back at you for that one, I promise!"
