Programme Notes of the electroacoustic piece
OMEN
by MARTíN FUMAROLA
The human being is always concerned about his future, how the
forthcoming time will be, and what can be modified and what
cannot be. The musical climates of "Omen" express and refer to
things like the anticipation of the future, the prediction, the
mistery and uncertainty of the future, the foressen and the unforeseen, the unpredictability, and the individual destiny.
"Omen" was produced in 1998 in the refurbished LEIM (Laboratory of Electroacoustics and Musical Informatics) of the National University of Córdoba (Argentina) using a PowerMacintosh 8600/200 with SoundEdit, SuperCollider, and SoundDesigner.
The World Premmiere of "Omen" took place on April 9th., 1999,
as part of Martín Fumarola's curated concert in the
"8th. Annual Florida Electroacoustic Music Festival"
