The black serpent
My love is a black serpent
that eats it's way through my soul.
I don't know how to stop it.
It's leaving an empty hole.
My love is a black serpent
that keeps poisoning my life.
I did not ask to have it.
It cuts me like a knife.
My love is a black serpent
that sneaks into my mind,
but if I manage to kill it
I will be forever blind.
My love is a black serpent,
one big, embarrasing cost.
Every moment awake I fight it.
In my sleep the fight is lost.
My love is a black serpent,
but do I really care?
I have to keep it hidden.
I really must beware.
My love is a black serpent.
The agony is mine,
and still I drink the poison
as was it sweetest wine.
My love is a black serpent.
I refuse to let it go.
I'll keep it secret and sacred
and never let it show.
My love is a black serpent.
My life is one big lie.
I'll never find peace again,
not till the day I die.
