Still a wolf

You made me your slave,
put me in chains,
but a wolf in chains
is still a wolf.

You can't seem to be grave.
Can't you see how it pains?
But a wolf in pain
is still a wolf.

You put me on fire,
then tossed me in a river,
but a wolf burnt and drenched
is still a wolf.

You are no liar,
yet your lies make me shiver,
but a shivering wolf
is still a wolf.

You let loose your slave,
but you left on the chains,
and a slave on the run
is still a slave...
