Lavendar Lace
African Net choker from 10/0 light lavendar pearl type seed beads with light and dark amethyst accents.
HINT: I have found that, when working with memory wire, I use a small scrap of the wire to select and set aside seed beads to be used only where the wire will be inserted. This way I know that there won't be any sizing problems when assembling.
Close up view of African Net detail. I inserted large accent bead just before the picot edging.
And, thanks to Emily Hackbarth's about.com web site, here are the matching earrings. I chose to use smaller accent beads to keep the weight down.
Bedazzling Black
This work is in progress but is along the lines of the Lavendar Lace shown above. There is a subtle increase in length as you near the center.
Here's a giggle. I used inverted teardrops just before the picot edging. When I explained this to my daughter (26 years old), she went into ditz mode and asked how I could use the beads upside down. I gently explained that the holes went all the way through so I could string them from either end.
