Magnificent Malificent
My son, David, gave me a silver Malificent charm for Christmas. I opted to free form a Malificent dragon head to house the charm. It has not yet been assembled but I am proud of my first free form effort.
Dazzlers
These earrings were inspired by the SunCatcher instructions found on the web. They were just lots of fun!!!
Lunch money Locket
Drea needs to take snack money to school daily. She was constantly losing all or part of it when we put it in her purse or backpack. I was experimenting with peyote rounds and realized that I could make a miniature drawstring purse that she could wear around her neck. It will hold 3 quarters.
Holiday Earrings
Since we went camping over the Fourth of July we, Drea and I, needed some patriotic earrings. I made certain that I had red, white (clear sparkle), and blue beads so that I could make some for us. Here are a few of my creations.
She ended up choosing the silver stars with the "bunting" drape. I made a few sets of the flags and gave them to the camp hostesses and rangers in appreciation of their help and efforts.
Bugs 'N Flowers
Here are a few whimsies that I worked up on those nights when sleep eludes me. The sunflowers just evolved while playing with round peyote. The dragonflies were inspired by these directions found on the net. I didn't have exactly those beads they suggested but I made do.
Just some "stuff" that kept me busy on those nights when sleep eluded me. Thank you bead fairies!!!
Faux Victorian
My best friend picked up a gorgeus antique curio cabinet recently and she also has some lovely shortstemmed roses growing in her garden. With this in mind I quickly beaded a fishbowl type vase to fill both requirements. It was only after I took the picture, and gave her the vase, that I noticed I should have put something solid in the bowl so that you could see the actual pattern. I'll get an update soon.
When I began beading I purchased several colors of larger plastic beads so that I could more easily follow the patterns and view my work. Having graduated to the much smaller seed beeds, I wondered what I could do with the left over plastic beads. Our neighborhood "under $1 store" had these bottles for sale so I picked up a few and let my needle run wild.
