               THE PROPOSAL

The little fears that haunted me
When I lay down at night,
I lost them all the other day
When you turned on the light.

You lit the light and scared away
               The demons and the fears,
You helped me when I needed you
               And wiped away the tears.

You helped me wipe away the lies
Told to me in my youth,
You held my hand and walked with me
As I searched out the truth.

You didn't push, you didn¹t rush
You let me walk my pace,
And then when I was ready
You helped me win the race.

Whenever I think how lucky I am
               For all my blessings dear,
I know there¹s one I have to thank
               For ever being near.

And so last night I asked the Lord
               Upon my bended knee,
To send a star to you
               To link us for eternity.

And then a star, it landed near
For me to give to thee,
And so I ask you, dear Kelleen,
               Please would you marry me?
