Understanding The Ways Of God
To understand the ways of God, Would be the ultimate joy for us all. We would know the reason for each burden, And we would understand his every call.
The days would be more predictable, Every event in our lives, we would understand. There would be no doubts to linger, For we would be more sure of His guiding hand.
We would not second-guess our actions or dedication, When storm clouds replace the sunshine in our lives. We could face each obstacle with confidence, For we would have no doubt we would survive.
But the wisdom of God is not meant for our understanding; He did not intend for us to know what the future holds. We are to by faith believe He alone controls the future, And by our faith to know the best for us will unfold.
His word has taught us valuable lessons; The story of Job explains much about the ways of God, He placed the heaviest burden, not upon His enemy, But upon one who was upright and perfect as upon this earth he did trod.
Only those who have proven their willingness to sacrifice, Are chosen by God to sacrifice even more, For He knows their witness for Him can be depended upon, And that witness will become even stronger than before.
