Parting With A Daughter

To part with a daughter is hard to do,
For when they leave so does a part of you.
My daughter has been a part of everything good
What ever I needed, she did all she could.
I can never imagine someone filling her shoes.
No one can equal the daughter that I lose.
She always cared for my every need.
Whatever the problem, she took the lead.
She always answered every question I would ask,
Always there to help with every little task.
I thank my Lord from which she was sent.
I thank Him for times together we spent.
Though she has gone to be with the Lord,
Life shall not have a slumbering chord.
God made a promise to my daughter and me,
Soon the joy of Heaven we shall see.
For together someday we will walk hand in hand

When we arrive in that glorious promised Land.
