Rocked see-dee
- 100 selected discs -
The
essential collection
Progressive bands.
1-Genesis: Foxtrot
2-Pink
Floyd: Ummagumma
The double album Ummagumma is a masterpiece of experimentation. It contains
"Astronomy Domine" - originally from Floyd's debut The Piper At The Gates Of
Dawn -, as well as "Careful With That Axe Eugene" and "Set The Controls
For The Heart Of The Sun". The mystical-sounding title Ummagumma turned
out to be an euphemism for "sex".
3-Emerson,
Lake & Palmer: Pictures At An
Exhibition
4-Tom
Petty: Echo
The first song from Echo
downloaded on MP3 became a smash hit all over the world. Now you can hear what the fuss
was all about with this hard-rocking new release from Tom and the boys. Take off your
shoes, crack open a cold one and groove to soon-to-be-classic tracks like "Room at
the Top," "Swingin" and "Won't Last Long."
5-Genesis: Selling England By The Pound
6-Leonard Cohen: Best Of LEONARD

7-Nick Cave: Murder Ballads
8-Amazing Blondel: Englishe Musicke
English mostly acoustic group 1969-76. Middle-age renaissance guitar, organ and other
instruments, multipart harmony vocals, etc., bordering on the prog movement in England at
the time. Related to Gryphon. The musicians had earlier
played rock and thus the music cannot be termed classical either. The group was released
on Island Records ust as any other rock group at the time.
Among lots of famous guest musicians can be named Boz Burrell, Jim
Capaldi, Eddie Jobson, Steve Winwood and Mel Collins. All the material here is
original - with lutes and crumhorns jumping headlong into massively complex arrangements
brimming with joie de vivre.
9-Pink Floyd: Atom Heart Mother
10-Van
Der Graaf Generator: Pawnhearts
