The Lady Delirium is the youngest of the Endless. She was once Delight, but upon the death of the first Despair, she assumed the mantle of Delirium. If she isn't careful, Delirium tends to break apart into a million butterflies. In her own way she's the most astute of the Endless, noticing things that no one else would think of noticing. She asked questions like "What's the word for when you realize you've forgotten what it feels like to make love to someone you really loved a long time ago?" and "What is the word for things not being the same forever and always?" That word, according to Dream, is, of course, "Change." Del (as she is better known) is in a constant state of transition. She has the most vertiginous realm of the Endless. She is the most likely to change of the Endless, though they never truly change except through death. Del is one of the most popular character in The Sandman and there are some wonderful sites dedicated to the indeed most likable member of the Endless.

The Story Behind the Story (a Delirium tale)
"There are things not in your book. There are paths outside this garden. You would do well to remember that."
