Desire of the Endless is without a doubt the most vindictive character in the series. It is said that no portrait of him/her would hever do it justice, because to see Desire is to love him/her. Desire is the most beautiful of the Endless, and the most cunning. It is openly hostile to it's elder brother, Dream, and consantly seeks to wreak havoc on his life. Desire enjoys toying with the human heart (and the heart of it's brother whenever it gets the chance.) Desire takes every opportunity to set mortals up in a love situation in which they can't help but lose. Desire is the least likable of the Endless to most, mainly because of what it attempts to pull on it's brother. Desire is cruel, yes, but is often right. When confronting Dream about his affair with a woman named Nada whom he sent to hell when she did not reciprocate his affections, Desire strikes a chord in Dream. Of all the Endless, Desire infuriates Dream the most. What infuriates him even more is when his favorite sibling, Death, takes Desire's side. This leads to the storyline of Season's of Mist, a story taking Dream into the recesses of hell to retrieve Nada from Lucifer, the most beautiful and proud of the angels. Desire is one of the most fascinating of the Endless and is featured now and again in nearly every storyline in the series, mainly meddling in it's elder brother's affairs.
