Destruction

The Prodigal

300 years ago, Destruction abandoned his realm. He took with him only his gallery and his scrying pool. He set up traps to dissuade any of his siblings to attempt to follow him. For 300 years they left him in peace, before Delirium decided she wanted to find him. After speaking to most members of her family, Delirium finally presuaded her brother Dream to help locate their lost sibling. Dream had just ended a love affair and was looking for a distraction. After many mishaps and accidents, and after a fated visit to Dream's son, Orpheus, they find their lost brother. Destruction is expecting their arrival and has dinner prepared for them. Following dinner, and shaking off all his siblings' requests that he return to his realm, Destruction dissappears once again. Destruction had no desire to be Lord of Destruction. He sees that things are contiually created and destroyed regardless of his putting a hand to it, so he leaves his realm up to it's own devices. He has a great love of humanity. He appears similar to how one would think a Norse god to look. He has red hair, is muscular, and has a big laugh. Of all the Endless, he is the least dark and the least dangerous. Destruction is the kind of guy you'd love to have as a friend. And who knows? Maybe you do. If you know someone who tries hard to be an artist and only succeeds in being mediocre, who has an unusual love of humanity and the earth, then perhaps that is he who I speak of. How well do we know our neighbors anyway?

"I like the stars. They're the illusion of permanence. I mean, they're always flaring up and going out. But from here I can pretend. I can pretend that lives last longer than moments..."
