Clan Troika design and concpetion by:John Peacock, Matt Wige, and Caroline Tigeress.

CLAN TROIKA a bloodline for Vampire The Masquerade

A clan of the modern era, Clan Troika is the result of a concentrated exchange of skills, blood and ability. Members of this clan are best known for their courage and steady heads under pressure. They value personal honour, dignity and heroism.

They are a fairly simple in concept, and generally do not reproduce without carefully selecting their childer, generally those who have phyiscal prowess, and tendancies toward defending the weak.

They find politics boring, and have a tendancy to find innovative, and ocasionally violent solutions to situations which might possibly be talked over. On occasion, they can have a perverse sense of humor, but do not take to theft or dishonstly well.

Nickname:Crusaders

Apearance:Varied

Haven:Varied - ocasionally mobile

Background:Generally those who are couragous and have high personal honor

Character Creation:Troika tend to have concepts that emphasise morailty, high phyiscal and mental characteristics. Backgrounds generally include lots of contacts and allies. While they take no qualms in using a friend for information, they will go well out of their way to avoid endangering those friends, and if accidently done, they will defend that friend, even to the death. High humanity is not unusual.

Clan Disciplines:Celerity, Protean, Regeneration

Weaknesses:The difficulty for frenzy rolls is always one higher, and every other frenzy produces an animal-like trait or feature.

Organiztion:Dubious, and generally solitare creatures, this clan doesn't socialize excessivley, yet when the party happens don't forget to give `em a call!

Quote:Don't Irritate Me.

Stereotypes:

Nosferatu - Good sources of information, but on occasion can use a good bath.

Tremere - Be wary - a few might be trustable, but don't let them forget who's boss.

Venture - Some are honorable, but are generally full of themselves

Gangrel - Could be a cousin of some kind, however they have a tendancy to be a bit more animalistic and loner than we.

Toreador - Fodder.

Malkavian - Sometimes their jokes can be funny - especially on someone else!

Brujah - Again, possibly a cousin? They know how to party, but sometimes would rather fight with each other than get the real job done.

New Discipline - Regeneration

At the end of every combat round, the maximum equal to no greater than the kindred's Manipulation + Regeneration, and limited to one event sequence per scene.

(Example:Ace has Manip 3 and Regen 3, so she may regenerate only six times per scene).

To regenerate, the character must declare how much damage she is attempting to regenerate, and the nature of this damage. Note that only one type of damage can be regenerated, either aggrevated or non-aggrevated, per round.

The difficulty for regenerating normal wounds is six, aggrevated eight. For every sucess of either regeneration, the character is healed one point PRIOR to the next round. If the character has wounds that are left UNREGENERATED then the character must burn an amount of blood equal to the wounds she has in order to simply stabilize her condition (this represents massive systemic damage). This blood is burned regaurdless of generation limitations - and if it exceeds the theoretical normal useage then that amount of blood is carred onto the next round and is unavailable.

Sound confusing? You bet. Does it work? Oh yeah!

An Example:

Ace is a 5th gen member of Clan Trokia. She can use eight blood points a turn. She has a Manipulation of three and a Regeneration of three. The total number of times she may regenerate in a given scene is six. There are currently 35 points in her blood pool.

She is engaged in combat with a Sabbat Gangrel.

For whatever reason (her stamina sucks!), she can't soak 3 Aggrevated wounds. She elects to roll regeneration. The dice roll is 10, 7, 7, 4, 1, 1. The dice hate ace, she MUST burn three blood immediatly. As she has used no blood this turn, there will be no next-turn blood useage penalty, and now has thirty-three in her pool.

Next round, she declares she is pumping stats (all physical), and celerity. This is a total usage of four blood, so four remain. This really doesn't help as she botches the initiative roll. The gangrel gets another lucky hit, and five more aggs come her way. She soaks all but one of them, and is at four Agg.

Ace burns an action, draws a magic blade and emasculates her opponent. It doesn't really help, as it doesn't staunch the bleeding - but hey, it makes her feel better.

At the end of round, Ace will roll regeneration - four dice because of penalty. She declares that she's attempting to regen the Agg wounds. 8, 8, 7, 1. She regenerates one of them, and pays three blood for the others (thirty remaning)

Next round, she's at three Agg wounds, and rolls five dice. 10, 6, 6, 5, 1. The regeneration was not sucessful, and she must pay three blood.

Next round, five dice again, three Agg wounds, 10, 7, 5, 5, 2. Regen one, down to two Agg wounds - pays two blood, and is down to twenty-five. There are only two more rounds in this scene that she may regenerate.

Five dice again, 10, 3, 2, 1, 1. Botch. The character must pay TWICE as much for a single botch, THREE times as much for a double, etc, etc. She's down to 19 blood.

Ace will elect not to regerate in the remainder of this scene, better to get some more blood first and go from there.
