The Anemone

  By Mica.

"Isn't this beautiful Ange?" Summer said looking through the jet's window. The Virgin Islands were under them, the green-blueish sea and the exhuberant trees welcoming them as an enchanted promise.

"Very, but you're more." She kissed him gently, leaning her head on his shoulder.

"I can't wait until this plane lands. I want to be there now," she whispered in his ear.

"Me too." And smiling he kissed her again.

She felt the sun's warmth on her skin and enjoyed it. She was happy. Slowly she opened her eyes, finding Angelo's loving gaze.

"Good morning love." He placed a kiss in her forehead.

Summer rolled on the bed so to put her head on his chest. He caressed her back. When she rose her head there where tears in her eyes.

"What's the problem love?" Angelo asked instantly alarmed.

"Nothing. I'm just too happy, I'm in this beautiful place with the man I love most. This feels so right, so natural."

He carefully grabbed her chin making her come closer so she could see him directly in the eye.

"I wouldn't change this moment or this place for anyhting in the world. I love you Summer with all my heart, you're my life." He spoke lovingly but with conviction. She let him wrap her with his arms. Yes, I'm the happiest woman in the world.

She stretched her body, her swimsuit outlining her frame. "I'm ready, let's go to the beach!" She could feel Angelo's anxiety in her mind.

"Are you so eager to go down to the beach?" She sent him.

"No exactly..." She felt him blushing.

"So?"

"I want to see you in that new swimsuit you bought. Mmmm..." he said chuckling.

"Ange!"

She opened the door, giggling and playing with the towel to hide some parts of her body. Angelo looked amused at her, while whistling 9= weeks song. He rose to his feet and after offering her his arm they walked down to the beach.

"Ahh, this is life!" Angelo said laying in the white sand.

"Don't be so lazy! Don't you want to swim?" She said trying to sound angry.

"Love, I don't have the urge to get myself wet that you seem to have. You go now, I'll join you later, de acuerdo?"

"Ok, but go... eh?" He nodded and she directed her steps to the sea.

Already in the water she swam and dove in the warm crystal-like water. The waves rolled softly. It's so nice to swim here, I like to be in the water... it's like a part of me. She sent the feeling to Angelo, supposing that would convince him to join her.

"Ange come here, the water is delicious!" She received no reponse. What's happening? She focused on the link they shared. I can't believe it, he fell asleep!

"Okay Ange, I'll teach you not to leave me alone!" She said giggling. Summer sank her hair in the water and got out of the sea. She walked slowly, hair in her hands trying not to lose the water she was carring. She froze it too, so the effect would be better.

"Wake up my angel!" She said dropping the water on him.

"What the hell!?"

He heard Summer laughting by his side.

"That's for sleeping when you should be swimming with me!"

"You'll see now!" he said grabbing her by the waist and pulling her down on the sand.

"Oh stop Ange stop!" she said laughting hysterically, he had started to tickle her. He stopped and kissed her.

"Do you surrender?"

"Never!" And she started running. He startedchasing her. Both of them laughting and having a great time.

Nothing mattered them. They've been in the Virgin Islands for 3 days now and they've completely forgotten of the rest of the world. Summer and Angelo were oblivious of the world, their only interest was each other, nothing else.

"You know Ange? This is like a piece of heaven..."

"You're right luv, nothing to worry about. No training, no FOH, no Monet and Jubilee.... paradise". Summer sighed in ecstasy...married life wasn't bad at all. That morning Angelo had carried breakfast to the bedroom and presented her with a flower... an anemone he said it was. Right now it was laced in her hair.

They went down to the beach again. They just loved laying there in the hot white sand, relaxing, caressing...

"Ange, can you put me some sun screen on my back please?" said Summer handling him the bottle.

"Sure!" He grabbed the bottle from her hands and started spreading the lotion on her back with soft long caresses.

Summer closed her eyes enjoying the feeling.

"SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME!!!" The scream resounded in the beach as thunder.

Summer inmediately opened her eyes looking alarmed. Angelo -by her side- was looking directly to the sea. She followed his gaze and found a woman crying and shouting. She was pointing at something in the sea.

"MY SON, MY SON IS DROWNING! PLEASE, WHERE'S THE LIFEGUARD?" The woman cried again.

Summer turned around and looked to the lifeguard chair, the flag was red, meaning the lifeguard wasn't there.

Angelo and Summer ran to the shore. There, many meters out to sea, where the waves where stronger, was a little boy. It was easy to see that he wasn't going to stay afloat much longer.

"Summer stay here, I'm going to help the kid," said Angelo running and diving into the dangerous waves. She felt a lump in her throat. It hurt. The wind had created big waves and after walking some meters into the sea you could not feel the sand under your feet. The idea of Angelo fighting witht he big waves scaried her, scaried her a lot.

To be finished. . .
