When you have no cover art, you reach for whatever you can. I recreated instrument images in Illustrator when it became clear we had no photos large enough to make a decent cover. This took, oh let's say, about 10 hours over a week's time. The individual instruments were drawn and then collaged together. I think it was while I was finishing it in Photoshop when I got the idea of turning them, to give the image some energy and a sense of movement.
