Mr Jesus

Mr Jesus

Mr Jesus bless my daddy
make him happy all his life
and if you can, bless my mummy
cos, she is daddy's wife.

Though it's a while 'till Christmas
and you're not Santa Claus
please listen Mr Jesus
cos what I want is yours.

Once I had a little sister
and she slept there in that cot
and now she's not there anymore
Mr Jesus, there she's not

She was just a little girl
and she never cried too much
I always called her Barbie
she felt so warm to touch

But last week Barbie went away
and I'm not sure where she is
Daddy said to ask dear Jesus
cos now our Barbie is his

Do you have her Mr Jesus?
cos I'd like her back a lot
it's lonely when I'm on my own
and she's not in her cot

I asked mummy where she is
but mummy only cried
and yesterday I heard Aunt Jean
tell Grandpa that she died

Mr Jesus won't you tell me
is my Barbie there with you?
Can I have her back for Christmas
or is that too much to do?

She's all I want for Christmas
she's the only friend I've got
cos mummy's got my daddy
I've only got Barbie in her cot

I've got a secret Mr Jesus
that I find so hard to keep
I've got lots of mummy's lollies
that she takes to make her sleep

If I eat up all the lollies
I'll sleep and sleep a lot
and when I wake at Christmas
I'll find Barbie in her cot

Mr Jesus they taste bitter
and my light is changing black
but I know, when I awake
I'll find Barbie has come back!

Will you tell God I love him
cos my teacher said I should
I love you too Mr Jesus
and I try so hard to be good

I know I', just a little boy
but I'm really very strong
I would have saved you from the cross
cos I know you did no wrong

Mr Jesus I feel tired
my tummy's burning up inside
It's really hurting Mr Jesus
but I'm brave and mustn't hide

Mr Jesus stop the burning
Daddy come and make me well!
There's my Barbie Mr Jesus
look she loves me, can't you tell?

I've stopped burning Mr Jesus
and my forehead isn't hot
Mr Jesus will you let me play
with Barbie in her cot?

Tell my daddyMr Jesus
and tell my mummy too
that we'll be back for Christmas
our Barbie, me and you

but it serves to demonstrate how easy it is
for a child to overdose on tablets
sometimes easily available in the home
