This Great Land
      Of Ours
(inspired by the Reagan administration)

Dear I'm home.
There's not much here for dinner.
I've been laid off.

Come here.
What's that?
I know it's cold.
The heats been off for days.
(and days)

Think warm, dear.
Hold me.
And don't let go.

How's the boy?
I know.
He's not going to make it.
We can't afford to save his life.

Look dear...
There on the TV screen.

It's a  parade.
Look at the crowds.
See him smile?
See him wave?
He's making a speech.

He says he wants to buy more bombs
for this great land of ours.

Look dear...
he's smiling again.
