In The
Pool

I tip toe past breath of fire
and gaze into
a bottomless pool
that attracts consciousness
like a magnet
to find my reflection.

Thoughts flutter
like moths about a flame
as I watch the aerial dance
in the minds' field
the stage.

The audience is still
alive with eyes that see
in every direction
observing, amazed.

There's a silhouette of an old man
walking down a dirt road.

There's a butterfly transformed
emerging from an ancient cocoon.

There's a ghost on a hill
being very still
making love to the moment
again and again
(for eternity)
