Twilight in the River

Salty stained lips
Ghost in my shadow
Glimmering yet untouched
Incapable of surrendering to indifference
Tentatively reaching the edge of loneliness
The struggle streams down my cheeks

Falling onto a path unknown
Standing forthright is a pillar of burden
And the towering beam of righteousness
Twilight in the river of coldness

Vintage Wine

A Rich wine to an impoverished, thirsty soul
Yearning for more and more
Pushing delicately on the lips
Cradling ecstasy in its threshold
Succumbing to exhilaration
Bitter-sweet anticipation

Warmth

A moments grace and leisure
Open arms receiving,
Togetherness and understanding
A smile communicating
Her angelic presence
Imploring me,
To seek beyond the facade
that allures me
So frightfully dark and yet so full of light
The beams fall and accept her
One in spirit
Set apart
A wine colored rose buried by
The thorns of life
