Teal, Bourbon, Lucy & Tula
The story of all four of these dogs is basically the same.
Teal, Bourbon and Lucy were all breeding stock in a KS puppy mill
that went out of business and advertised its stock for sale.
Sibernet got wind of this and learned that there were 26 Siberians
at this puppy mill. Money was raised to buy the dogs, and
rescuers were found to foster them, plus transportation from
various members to get them to these foster homes that ranged
in location from Colorado to Maryland. Teal went to a home in MD
to have her last litter of puppies, all but one of which she lost
(probably to internal parasites of some sort), then she was
fostered until she found a great home in DE. Bourbon and Lucy are
both older dogs who now have a great home in North Carolina.
Tula was a freshly born puppy when the whole buyout started and
she went to a home in Colorado with her mom Starr, who was so
nervous and timid that the vet advised separating her from the
puppies rather early. Homes were found for all the litter except
for Tula. Seems that her care giver had fallen for Tula and
realized that she was going to be more of a handful than the
rest of the litter. So she was being rather fussy about finding
a home for her. Tula now has a great home in PA.
