Bow Now or Bow Later

The Bible says that one day EVERY knee will bow at the name of Jesus, and every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord. It’s not a question as to whose will is stronger, for each and every one of us will recognize Jesus for who He is and what He’s done at some point. Even the hardest hearts will acknowledge the omnipotence of God and truth of His Word…the Bible is clear about that. The very name of Jesus will bring every single person to his or her knees at the appointed time.

For something that is so sure and set in stone, we actually do have some sort of say in the matter. We have the choice to either bow now or bow later. We can confess that Jesus Christ is Lord now…or we can wait until it’s too late. What? Too late?? Is that really possible?? Yes, it sure is, and to make things even more “pressing”, too late could be as close as a minute away.

No one knows the day or hour that Jesus will come back for His followers…but we must live as though it could come at any moment. Jesus Christ left a testimony before He ascended back up to heaven. He told the world that He was THE way, truth, and life and that no one could come to the Father except through Him. He fulfilled numerous prophecies, and He spent His last three years on earth teaching, leading, healing, and serving. Then, before finishing His Father’s work, He told His followers to spread the word about the free gift of salvation.

But what happens when you don’t accept a gift? When you don’t open it up and use it? It becomes of no worth to you, right? Christ gave His life for your salvation, but it is up to YOU to receive it. It is up to YOU to live in it. It is up to YOU to recognize that He is Lord and Savior and worthy of praise, glory and honor. If you choose not to accept the gift and choose to deny that salvation exists, then you choose not to bow to Christ. That is your decision to make for the time being…but if you turn your back on Christ and His gift right now, you may not get another chance to re-evaluate things and change your mind. It may be too late to bow willingly… The very proof that you are looking for to validate your need to bow to Christ and serve Him will appear someday, but by then it may be too late to change your mind. You will bow…we all will. The question is this: Will you bow now out of your own submission, or will you wait to bow until all is revealed and the time has come for everyone to recognize who Christ is? Don’t wait too long…you may be too late.
